July 2024 Annual Corporation Meeting
The annual corporation meeting was held at the Cherry Street Church of Christ in New Albany, IN. and was attended by 19 corporation members. At this meeting one new person joined the corporation bringing the total number of corporation members to 40.
SCEC Approved 2024-2025 Grants
The SCEC board of directors approved grants totaling $90,000. Scholarship grants were provided to 24 students attending eight different Christian colleges/universities. Grants were also provided to Portland Christian School and Central Bible College in the Philippines.
The Future of SCEC
What does the future hold for SCEC? This question has been presented to the board of directors and the corporation members for future discussion. The desire for younger leadership is a concern for the ongoing work of SCEC, Ways to provide this leadership will be considered in future discussions. Your interest and potential involvement with SCEC would greatly aid in the continuing effort of SCEC. Please consider becoming involved.
Cherry Street Church of Christ Library
The libraries of Kentucky Bible College that later became Southeastern Christian College, and the library of The School of Biblical Studies, have now been combined and are housed in a newly renovated library room at Cherry St. Church of Christ in New Albany, IN. We commend those of the younger generation that put in a lot of hard work to make this a reality. Funds from SCEC were provided for supplies and materials to enable this to be accomplished. Those that did the extensive work did it as a labor of love. If you live in the So. IN or Louisville, KY area, it is worth it to see what was accomplished in this endeavor and now the books are accessible to all.
